Livigno

Livigno, which is divided into three 'districts' of Santa Maria, San Antonio and San Rocco, is over a thousand years old and was declared independent in the 17th century. Napoleon exempted the town from all taxes and duties due to the inaccessibility of the valley. These privileges still exist today, and every year Livigno attracts skiing tourists looking for something special. A big plus is that the resort is suitable for all family members, big and small.

This is the right choice for those who want plenty of space on the slopes during their skiing holiday. In terms of skiing, there is nothing more to be desired. There are three ski systems and the pistes are wide, open and well groomed. As the air in the valley is dry, they rarely get icy. In addition, you have slopes on both sides of the village and can make the most of the day.

If you want to try some easier off-piste skiing, Livigno is well suited. Between the slopes there are easily accessible off-pistes where you can make your own tracks down the mountain. There are 20 km of black piste, 55 km of red and 40 km of blue. The lift system is modern and despite the popularity of the resort, you won't have long waiting times. In Livigno you can take a free ski bus between the different base stations. The season starts at the beginning of December and lasts until the end of April. There are of course ski schools in the village and shops that rent ski equipment.
