Trips to Chios
Chios is both the name of the island and its main city. The island is large, the fifth largest in Greece, and is located south of Lesbos near Turkey.
On the island, you will find many beautiful beaches, some of which feel untouched, like Giosonas Beach, for example. You will also discover numerous historical buildings and attractions throughout the island. Homer is said to have been born here, in the town of Vrontados, located north of Chios. Chios is also famous for producing mastic, a resin said to have healing properties and used in various products that can be purchased in shops across Greece. The resin comes from a shrub that grows in the southern part of the island.
We recommend renting a car to explore the island in the easiest and most convenient way, though the bus network is also well-developed.
