Trips to Fulda
The history of Fulda began in March 744 when Sturmius, a student of Boniface, laid the foundation for a Benedictine monastery here. Ten years later, Boniface himself was laid to rest here after being killed in a Frisian attack.
The city that developed around the monastery experienced its golden age during the Baroque period. A new Baroque building designed by Johann Dienzenhofer was constructed between 1704 and 1712 on the site of the old monastery.
The Stadtschloss, Michaelskirche, Heilig-Geist-Kirche, and Peterskirche are definitely worth visiting.
