Trips to Ko Chang

Ko Chang is a large, lush, and green island. The sea is turquoise blue, and the palm trees nearly reach the water's edge.

The variety of trees and plants is unmatched in Thailand. Along the coast, the beaches stretch out—white, long, and inviting. Ko Chang is part of the "Ko Chang National Marine Park." The inner part of the island is almost untouched, with difficult terrain. A paved road runs almost around the entire island, narrowing as you head south. The road has steep inclines and sharp curves, making it quite an adventure if you're not in a hurry. You pass small villages where locals sell their goods from market stalls along the road, small restaurants, and many signs pointing the way to various hotels and resorts.

Explore the Island

Ko Chang is experiencing explosive development. Shops, restaurants, and bars are springing up rapidly along the main road. What was empty just a few years ago now hosts new, beautiful hotels and resorts.

Wonderful Beaches

The island's best beaches are on the west coast. The White Sand Beach is 5 km long with coconut palms and many visitors. The beach at Coconut Bay, another 5 km south, is considered one of the best and is a bit less crowded. Even further south, Hat Kai Bae is a beautiful and quieter option. If you don't want to just relax on the beach, you can take a trip inland to the Nam Tok Tan Mayom waterfall, sail to one of the small islands off Ko Chang, dive or snorkel, and watch Thai boxing on Saturdays. It’s certain that vacations on Ko Chang will be a wonderful experience.

FLIGHTS:

TRANSFER: Transfer to Ko Chang by car takes about 4.5-5 hours from Bangkok, plus a 35-minute ferry to the island.

COMMUNICATIONS: Affordable buses and taxis. Scooter rental is also available.

BEACHES: Lovely small beaches with powdery white coral sand. Strong tides and winds can occur, bringing debris onto the shores.
