Once the capital of the region, Lucca held significant economic and political power. This pleasant city boasts many beautifully restored buildings, along with plenty of shops and restaurants.

Lucca: A Small Jewel

This beautiful city is rich in history. Surrounding the city are walls from the 16th and 17th centuries. Picturesque squares, walking paths, and stunning buildings attract many returning visitors. There are also plenty of cozy outdoor cafés and lovely gardens here.

Our accommodations are located in and around the surrounding villages of Palaia, Terriciola, Volterra, Pisa, Lucca, and more. From both of these provinces, you can embark on numerous excursions to other attractions in the region. One of our absolute favorites is the classic city of Volterra, with its well-preserved city walls, elegant palaces, and remarkable architecture—a city you must see. The city is also known for its alabaster production. The landscape is beautiful with small green hills and sleepy villages such as Calci and Buti.
